Family History Research Platform

• Purpose: Research and map my family history across generations.
• Build: Custom program combining APIs, structured research, document generation, and relationship mapping.
• Output: Organized source material, supporting documents, people/location relationships, and a usable family-tree structure.
• What I learned: API integration, data organization, research validation, automation, and handling incomplete historical records.

Encrypted DNS & Home Network Privacy

• Platform: Dedicated Linux server running Technitium DNS.
• Functions: DNS filtering, caching, local resolution, and encrypted upstream DNS.
• Testing: Validated encrypted resolution, tuned blocklists, and investigated devices attempting to bypass local DNS.
• Result: Centralized privacy and filtering controls for the home network.

Home Network & Homelab

• Linux servers, mesh Wi-Fi, routing, self-hosting, and remote access.
• OPNsense testing and planning for a dedicated firewall/router architecture.
• Tailscale for remote administration and access to internal services.
• Designed around a practical constraint: improve the network without disrupting a household that depends on it every day.

Home & Device Automation

• ADB-based streaming-device maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Scheduled Linux tasks and repetitive maintenance workflows.
• Smart-home experimentation and service integrations.
• Focus on automations that reduce ongoing manual work instead of adding complexity.

• Systems Audit: control design, testing, client-style communication, reporting, and presentation.
• Endpoint Infrastructure: secured environment using Proxmox, OpenSearch, and Active Directory.
• Application Security Research: academic man-in-the-middle research involving the openHAB mobile application.
• Nonprofit Cybersecurity Capstone: vulnerability research, Microsoft security consulting, policy review, awareness training, NIST-based risk assessment, and Penetration Testing support.
